How to Not Lose Yourself While Trying New Trends

Fashion trends are constantly changing, and it can be easy to get swept up in them. Don’t lose yourself to trends but also don’t limit yourself to not trying some out! We’re sharing how to try out trends in a way that embraces and amplifies your style.

The key to not losing yourself is to incorporate trends with a twist. When trying out a new trend, mix an aspect of it into your daily lineup of clothing and go-to’s. If you’re not sure where to start, start small with a trendy accessory that catches your eye. Don’t forget, if a trend doesn’t feel like you, skip it! Don’t try to force a trend you’re uncomfortable with. There’s a difference between items that don’t fully fit your aesthetic and ones you don’t like.

Let’s break down how to include some popular trends in your everyday wardrobe:

Clean Girl

When you think of the clean girl trend, you can go for the simple athleisure look or the elevated look, similar to Sophia Richie’s style. This can be one of the easiest trends to hop on board. You can start with slicked-back hair in a low bun or try out natural makeup with sheer products, a fluffy or gelled brow, and peachy gloss and blush. As for clothing, you can achieve this look by opting for cool tones and sleek lines. Think black pants paired with a cool or white-toned top.

Corporate Core

Corporate Core, sometimes called “girl boss”, mixed corporate wear with elegance. When incorporating corporate core, try out a sleek blazer over a plain top or sleek dress pants. If pinstripes aren’t your thing, or you want to add some color, opt for dress pants in white, pastels, or a solid bright color. Corporate Core might not be for you, and that’s okay. Remember, there are many trends out there for you to try!

Statement Pieces

Statement jewelry is making a comeback! For a while, it had dropped out of style, with people opting for sleek chains and tennis styles or simple gems. Recently, celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Blake Lively have been spotted in large, chunky gold earrings and bracelets. Go through your jewelry draw and see if you’ve got any statement pieces you think can make their comeback! Go for simple but large pieces, like chunky hoops, or stack bracelets of similar shades.
