Last time we heard from Julie, she had just finished her consultation call with one of our celebrity stylists, Andrea. Julie, a very busy mother who runs a business, takes care of her family with three teens in high school, was invited to a white tie event for her daughter’s white tie event. Here are the highlights from her consultation:
“This is your red carpet moment.”
Andrea notes that the goal for the event is to feel glamorous for the evening. The focus of this consultation was for Andrea to ensure to Julie, the client, that this is her moment.
“We can work within your budget.”
Andrea detailed many options for Julie to take so that she can have the opportunity to have her moment, without breaking her bank account. She advised trying on dresses from department stores that offer returns in case a dress didn’t work out, or renting dresses or accessories from high-end, rental boutiques.
“I want the fashion to speak for itself.”
Julie, who has never been to a white tie event, said that she wanted to feel “fabulous” for the event. Andrea suggested something to make her feel and look youthful, while still looking mature and professional.
So what are the next steps? Julie and Andrea worked on an interactive pinterest board together. Through Pinterest, both of them can upload possible dress or accessories options any time! The amazing thing about Pinterest is the item is linked to the picture uploaded, so if you really like a piece, all you do is click the picture and your chosen browser takes you to the page for purchase. It cuts out the back and forth of seeing a picture on a social media site, clicking on the profile of the poster, searching for a link for the website, and scrolling through hundreds of other merchandise to try to find it. Through Pinterest, Julie was able to save time and construct her look efficiently.
Andrea categorized each outfit together with its matching accessories into different pinterest boards with different color palettes that fit the white tie theme. Julie was able to click through all the boards and see which colors and dress styles were right for her. She got to work quickly! If you remember from the first part of this series, one of Julie’s main concerns about online shopping was that she’d “fall into a rabbithole” of trying to find different gowns and ending up with a large selection that she can sift through. The great part about StyldLife is that Andrea did the sifting for her! No more going down the dangerous rabbit hole of online shopping.
Once Julie chose a color palette and style that she liked, she headed to a department store and tried on the exact same dress that Andrea suggested. Once she tried it on, she took pictures of her in the dress and uploaded it to another Pinterest board that Andrea has access to. Andrea is able to view, comment, like, and add possible accessories to the Pinterest board so Julie can start to accessorize her look.
This process just made the red carpet preparation so much easier! With a celebrity stylist by Julie’s side, she was able to cut back on time and stress trying to figure things out on her own, and with the virtual styling options that we have on our platform, she was able to construct this look on her own time and from the comfort of her own home. It was that easy. As Julie said on her follow up call, “If I can do it, anyone can do it.”
We can’t wait to see the final look, Julie! We know you’ll look stunning. Book your StyldLife consultation today to create your own fashion lookbook for your events!
