Fall fashion is back in full swing! This year’s trends draw from similar styles as last year’s looks— neutrals, monochromatic, and bold colors! However, this year comes with a twist. The use of different textures in otherwise simple outfits are all the rave.
Bottega Veneta’s Salon 02 recently dropped, featuring pieces that highlight the power of texture in simple looks. One of the most eye-catching looks from their lookbook is a slick, all-black, tailored coat paired with leather, thigh-high boots. While the color scheme of the outfit is toned down, the contrast between the muted black coat and the shiny boots is pleasing to the eye. The model posed with a textured clutch. A silver buckled black belt emphasized her figure. hunky silver earrings tie the look together by bringing hints of sparkles to a monochromatic look.

Along with the bold looks featured, are bright primary colored tops and dresses. In their coverage of Veneta’s launch, Yahoo described such pieces as “bold and punchy.” A mustard yellow top, a bright red knit mini-dress, and a teal fringe cut coat are some of the pieces that stood out in their lookbook.
54-year-old, TikTok, fashion-influencer, Carla Rockmore, who is dubbed “the real life Carrie Bradshaw,” embraces this trend with one of her viral videos. She rocks a plaid 1980’s Taffeta Holiday Skirt with a Sex Pistols graphic t-shirt. She wears bright red Rick Owens platforms with a multitude of silver jewelry and a leather Gatsby Cabbie cap. For her bag, she opts for a black, leather flat bag with silver accents around the edges. Rockmore made her name known on TikTok with her unique, but classy, outfits. The TikTok world fell in love with her style because of how she incorporates her glamour in youthful looks.

For the first show of his highly anticipated American leg of his world tour, Harry Styles sported a custom all-pink Gucci ensemble, complete with a sparkly-fringe vest and bright, wide-leg dress pants with nude booties. This outfit was perfect for the location of the first show— Las Vegas! The bold look made Styles stand out under the bright lights of the MGM Grand Garden Arena. His band rocked the stage with him in their own Gucci outfit. They wore a nude, tailored, suit to compliment Harry’s bright outfit.

Many celebrities have been seen rocking the monochrome and bold looks. Gigi Hadid, five time Vogue cover model, is seen here in a plum look with a see-through long sleeve top and gold stacked necklaces. The trend of using the monochrome look while using bold colors is taking the fashion world by storm! The September issue of Vogue highlighted this upcoming fall trend with designs by Stella McCarrtney, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Ralph Lauren. One of the most memorable looks included a faux-fur leopard print jacket with metallic skinny jeans by Dolce & Gabbana. It’s the perfect use of bold colors and different textures without being too overbearing. Another stand-out is the dark-academia and western-chic inspired look by Ralph Lauren featuring a cable knit beanie, faux-fur jacket, and suede pants. The look leans more monochromatic in the color scheme, however, it is nowhere near simple with the use of contrasting textures.
