Celebrities have always been huge influences in the beauty community. We’ve all seen the L'Oréal, Maybelline, and Pantene commercials with some of our favorite movie stars, like Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Aniston. Since the traditional celebrity endorsements, more celebrities dabble in the beauty industry. Now some actors, singers, and social media influencers are working with beauty brands to launch makeup collaborations and, in some cases, entire skincare lines.
Some of the most recent popular celebrity makeup and skincare lines are, of course, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna and Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner.

Rihanna launched her makeup line, Fenty Beauty, in September of 2017. With a starting lineup of 40 foundation shades, which is now 50 shades, her brand is known for its inclusivity. With a successful makeup brand, Fenty Beauty expanded its makeup line to include products like highlighters and lip gloss, and some skincare products, like moisturizers.
Kylie Jenner turned her signature pouty lips makeup-look into a brand and launched Kylie Cosmetics in November of 2015. Her popular “Lipstick Kit”, consisting of a liquid lipstick and a lip liner, was so successful, Jenner expanded her makeup line to a skincare line called Kylie Skin.

While Fenty Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics remain staples in the beauty community, new makeup and skincare releases from celebrities are giving consumers new, fresh options. Here are some beauty collaborations that are taking the internet by storm:

Revlon has just announced rap star, Megan Thee Stallion, will be their newest celebrity ambassador. Megan Thee Stallion is making a name in the rap community with collaborations with Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, and her newest, viral collaboration with Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj. The announcement of the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper didn’t come as a shock to fans. Before the big announcement, Revlon tweeted out a promo video that highlighted the rapper’s Texas roots and distinct style.

Grammy Award-Winning singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys, will be releasing a skincare line in partnership with E.L.F beauty. Keys has been very vocal about wanting to set a positive example for young women by not wearing makeup for public events. She says it’s to boycott society’s unrealistic beauty standards for women. Her products, which have not been revealed by her or E.L.F, will be vegan. Her skincare line is set to launch in 2021.

While some beauty brands are sticking with traditional celebrities, other brands are turning to big names on social media. Morphe Cosmetics is known for collaborating with various social media influencers, like Jaclyn Hill and James Charles. They recently announced Tik Tok influencers, Dixie and Charli D'Amelio, will be the faces of their new #Morphe2 line. The sisters are known for being two of the most popular influencers on the social media app, Tik Tok, which is popular among teens creating short and quirky dance videos.
The beauty endorsements from these various celebrities will inspire others to recreate their most iconic makeup looks, while others will find a way to add their own creativity to it. With the use of social media, finding the right beauty products for each of us is accessible within our fingertips. I, personally, can’t wait to see what other beauty-related releases will break the internet!
