The upcoming movie Barbie, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, directed by Academy Award-winning Greta Gerwig has taken the internet by storm. The glamorous movie follows the iconic duo as they leave Barbie-land and venture into the real world. The film’s trailer gives a sneak peek of the glitz and glam of Barbie land (with neverending fabulous shades of pink!) and instantly transports viewers back to their childhood with witty, hilarious dialogue that captures the essence of childhood. Celebrity cameos like Dua Lipa, Simu Liu, and John Cena, partnered with the internet’s creation of “Barbeneimer,” the association of the film with Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, Oppenheimer, which is set to premiere to the public the same day, only propelled Gerwig’s film to instant popularity.
While Barbie is highly anticipated, the star, Margot Robbie, has made her own headlines for incredible press tour outfits thanks to her stylist Andrew Mukamal. We picked our top five favorite Barbie looks to share with you!

1. Day-to-Night Barbie
Margot Robbie’s Day-to-Night Barbie look for the South Korea movie premier was spot-on! The Versace ensemble of a hot-pink skirt suit looked precisely like the outfit worn by the 1985 Day-to-Night Barbie. From the white accent buttons and collar, the pink ascot, to the white hat with a pink polka dot band, Robbie embodied Barbie perfectly. Even her blonde hair styled in large, voluminous curls was an exact replica of the toy’s design. Safe to say Versace understood the assignment!

2. Pink and Fabulous Barbie
For the Los Angeles photocall, Mukamal dressed Robbie in a modern version of the 2015 Pink and Fabulous Barbie outfit. The original dress, a tight pink and white polka dot dress, paired with yellow accessories was the inspiration for Robbie’s look. Mukamal, who opted to add a modern twist to it, styled Robbie in a criss-cross pink and white Valentino polka dot dress with a front cut-out. Of course, Robbie accessorized with a bright yellow shoulder bag, a yellow bead bracelet, and pointed white heels.

3. Totally Hair Barbie
Mukamal took us back to the 90’s with this Totally Hair Barbie-inspired look for Robbie at the Mexico City appearance. Dressed in a Pucci mini dress with funky colors and patterns, Robbie wore hot-pink Chanel earrings and wore her long, crimped blonde hair in a side part. Robbie looked absolutely fun and charming, just what you would expect from Barbie herself.

4. Brunette Bubble Cut Barbie
Not every Barbie look is pink, but every look is fabulous! Robbie wore a commissioned red mini dress by Dilara Findikoglu in London which was a crowd favorite. Inspired by the 1962 doll, Robbie wore her hair up, imitating the bubble cut, with red Maison Earnest open-toed one-strap heels. The cut of the neckline imitated the original cut of the one-piece worn by the doll and the fiery red color of the dress was a showstopper.

5. Original Barbie
Robbie paid homage to the original Barbie design during her press tour stop in Sydney. Dressed in a black and white striped Herve Leger bandage dress, Mukamal drew inspiration from the swimsuit the original Barbie wore in 1959. Robbie accessorized with gold hoops and white-rimmed cat eye sunglasses with her hair in a ponytail just like the doll. Mukamal and Robbie tapped into Barbie’s roots and did not disappoint!
We’re so excited to see more of Barbie coming to life when Barbie is shown in theaters starting July 21. All we know is that if the looks for the press junkets are this iconic, the looks in the movie will be incredible to see. Robbie and her stylist, Mukamal, have truly brought Barbie to life before our eyes. We can’t wait to see how costume designer Jacqueline Durran brings Barbie and Ken to life in Barbie.
