At StyldLife Weddings we’ve talked about how great (and enjoyable) a COVID-19 wedding can be, but what about after the wedding? With a global pandemic and a slew of travel restrictions in place, it might seem as if a honeymoon during this time is impossible, but why should your COVID-19 honeymoon be any less fabulous than the wedding? It shouldn't!
Here are three of our favorite, fabulous, and COVID-19 safe honeymoon locations for any newlyweds to enjoy:

1. British Virgin Islands
The British Virgin Islands are one of the few vacay spots that are open for business, due to the lifting of travel orders and reopening of businesses. According to the CDC website, The British Virgin Islands has been upgraded to a ‘Level 2’ for COVID-19 cases. This means the risk factor is moderate and The Islands are still open for traveling in addition to a few protocols. This particular location requires you to get tested 1-3 days before travel, you will not be permitted to travel if your results are not in, or if you test positive for COVID-19. When returning to the states, it is required for you to get tested before returning to work in some cases. If not, it is required for you to self-quarantine for 10 days after your return to the United States. Upon arrival, you will need to be tested and have the approval to enter the country to ensure the safety of you and the citizens of The British Virgin Islands. A $175 fee will be collected from passengers to cover the cost of in territory testing.

When it comes to the talk of The Islands everyone raves about the delicious foods, and the locals are known for their tasty cuisines. With the stay-at-home order being lifted, you have a chance to try the local spots that are open. As for attractions, many exciting places might not be open during this time, instead relax at the beach! If all else fails on leisure activities, you can grab your significant other and head for the shores for some sunbathing. Is that so bad for a worst-case scenario? I think not!

2. Thailand
According to the CDC, Thailand is in the 'Level 1' category for COVID-19-19. This means there is a low level of COVID-19 risk. Although this may seem like a lower-risk place to travel, extensive precautions are still required for going both in and out of the country. For leaving the U.S. it is again required to get a viral test 1-3 days before travel, once again you may not travel if you are sick, tested positive, or have taken part in high-risk activities. According to the Thai embassy’s website, to enter your stay must not exceed 45 days. In addition to that, the traveler must present several things:
A certificate of entry
Health certificate
Medical insurance
Thailand Plus application
All of these items can be filled out and submitted online on the Thai Embassy's website.
All this work to enter Thailand will be worth it. Thailand is a beautiful island with many sightseeing destinations. Not to mention, this location is handy for those on a budget. 1.00 United States Dollar is equal to 29.97 Thai Baht, talk about bang for your buck. This location would be great for honeymooners wanting to travel somewhere cool without spending a pretty penny to get there. Something Thailand is known for is its ancient historical sights. If you really want a taste of Thai culture make sure to visit places like Sukhothai, Lopburi, and Ayutthaya. They are the places you'll want to go to if you enjoy learning about different cultures.
3. FIJI

I don't know about you, but every time FIJI has ever been mentioned to me, it seems like heaven on earth. To further my point, according to the FIJI embassy’s website there are no COVID-19 cases in FIJI, except a few cases from “arriving international passengers who tested positive during the mandatory 14-day arrival quarantine process”. Honeymooning in this paradise will be a bit more extensive than other places. Again, the same COVID-19 test results are required before travel, as well as a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.
Normally FIJI has a family-friendly reputation, but couples will find no shortage of romantic events to do as well. After doing some digging on their tourism site there is a section just for couples. There are several adults-only resort areas for a nice and quiet place to stay. Among the romantic activities listed are secluded bays, private trails, and even romantic waterfalls. Yes, the entry process is less than ideal, but the experience will for sure set the mood for any newlyweds!

For all the love birds out there I know how you feel, this pandemic has negatively impacted 2020 weddings and 2021 looks like we'll have the same outcome. Even if your big day wasn't exactly how you planned, your honeymoon is another chance to celebrate your new union. Look into some of these places to start your new lives together off right.
