Paris Fashion Week brought out some incredible looks on the runway. The nine-day event from September 28th to October 6th featured the 2022 Spring/ Summer collections of our favorite brands like Vivienne Westwood, Valentino, and Chanel. With the pandemic still going on, the official Paris Fashion Week Instagram documented the shows that took place and posted them on their account to let those who couldn’t attend in person enjoy the festivities from the comfort of their own home. This year black took the stage by storm! From Miu Miu to Nina Mounah, each brand had their own take on the all black ensemble in the highly anticipated fashion event.
On the third day of Paris FW, Litkovsaya, a Ukraine based brand, premiered their collection featuring “masucline suits, oversized silhouettes, and sculptural lines.” Model, Evagria, walked down the runway wearing one of the most incredible looks of the event. She wore the “Petal Slim Dress,” an ankle length, black dress with massive platform sandals. Her accessories included two thigh length braids as earrings, attached by a chunky gold hoop. The slick-back hairstyle paired perfectly with the sleek black dress. The look worked nicely with the mysterious and out-of-the-box vibe the brand markets itself as.
Didu took the virtual aspect of Paris FW to another level by incorporating Grimes as a CGI model. The collection titled “The Last Dance of Life” included other worldly looks that mimic extraterrestrial components and futuristic elements. Grimes is photographed wearing a black, halter top that contrasts with her light skin to bring the brand’s vision to life. She was accessorized with an earpiece and colored contacts to make her look inhuman-like, capturing the essence of the collection’s theme. Didu’s unusual take on fashion trends was refreshing to see in their Paris FW appearance.
Courreges stuck to a more traditional runway show in collaboration with Nicole Di Felice. Model Mona Tougaard strutted down the runway wearing an all black ensemble consisting of a black, glossy, halter top and a long black buttoned skirt with a middle slit and pockets. She was accessorised with black glossy shoes that paired with her top and dangly silver earrings. The blocking of her top and shoes in juxtaposition to her more muted skirt added dimension to the ensemble. While the collection was more tame than Didu and Litkovsaya’s, the pieces unveiled were not any less exciting.

Alexandre Vauthier featured model Akon Changkou in a gorgeous leather-esque boxy black blazer and skirt set. The blazer highlighted puffy upper sleeves, reminiscent of the silhouette created by 1980’s shoulder pads trend. Her figure was accentuated by a thick black belt with a silver buckle and a tight skirt. She wore pointed black heels and a black head covering to continue the all-black theme. With the large silver hoops, the look was aesthetically pleasing to see. The collection was chic, sophisticated, and was the definition of high-fashion.
